Course Overview

The Advanced Open Water Diver course includes five adventure dives that give you a taste of different specialties while building confidence and skill underwater.

• Core Dives:
  • Deep Dive (to 30 meters)
  • Underwater Navigation Dive
• Elective Dives (examples):
  • Wreck Dive
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy
  • Fish ID or Naturalist Dive
  • Underwater Imaging (optional with camera rental)

Extra Fun Dive Option (+1,000 THB)

Want to get even more out of your AOW course? You can add one extra Fun Dive for just +1,000 THB, making it a total of 6 dives over 3 days (2 dives per day). This gives you extra time to apply your new skills in a relaxed environment while exploring another stunning reef site.

• 3-day plan with 2 boat trips per day (no night dive)
• Perfect for building experience after your course dives
• You can decide whether to add this option during check-in at the dive center

Prerequisites for Participation

• Minimum age: 12 years old (Junior Advanced Open Water certification available for ages 12–14)
• Must be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent from another recognized training agency)
• Reasonable health and physical fitness are required
• All participants must complete the PADI Medical Questionnaire (PDF)
• If any questions are answered “Yes,” a medical clearance from a doctor is required before diving

Note: Junior Advanced Open Water Divers (ages 12–14) are limited to a maximum depth of 21 meters (70 feet), and must dive with a certified adult diver. Upon turning 15, their certification automatically upgrades to the standard Advanced Open Water Diver certification.

Sample Schedule

• Day 1: 3 Adventure Dives (including Deep and Navigation)
• Day 2: 2 remaining Adventure Dives + Certification processing
• Optional Day 3: Extra Fun Dive (2 dives, +1,000 THB)

Certain specialty dives may be adjusted based on weather and site conditions. Night dive is not included in this program.

• PADI Advanced Open Water certification fee
• 5 (or 6 with add-on) guided dives
• Rental dive equipment
• Professional instruction and guided diving
• Insurance, lunch, and refreshments during boat trips

Food Option

During online booking, you will be asked: “Do you want food on the boat? (Yes / No)”

• The online price includes food by default.
• If you select No, we will refund 100 THB at check-in.

Menu & dietary notes: The menu rotates daily (e.g., fried rice, yellow noodle stir-fry, curry) and is served at random — guest selection is not available. Vegetarian/vegan options are available on request, but please note it is a light meal. Kindly inform us at booking or during check-in if you need a veg/vegan option.

This system helps reduce food waste and supports our eco-friendly operations.

📷 Underwater Imaging Option (+800 THB)

If you choose the Underwater Imaging Adventure Dive as one of your electives, you can rent an underwater camera from Dive Tribe Phi Phi for +800 THB per day.

• Available models: GoPro or DJI Action (subject to availability)
• Includes SD card or data transfer to your device after the dive
• Brief on safe camera handling and underwater composition included before the dive

Please note: This rental option is available only to AOW students selecting the “Underwater Imaging” dive. Book early to ensure availability.

National Park Fee

National park fees totaling 800 THB per person are not included in the course price. These fees are collected in cash at the pier by the Department of National Parks (DNP) officers before each boat trip and support the conservation of the Phi Phi Marine Park.

• Day 1: 600 THB
• Day 2: 200 THB

Important Reminders

• Before your course, please visit our shop for paperwork, equipment fitting, and a short orientation.
• Flying after diving:
  • After a morning trip, wait at least 18 hours before flying (from 11:00 AM).
  • After an afternoon trip, wait at least 18 hours before flying (from 4:00 PM).
  • Please check your flight schedule before booking.
