We're here to answer your most common questions and provide you with the information you need for an unforgettable diving experience in the stunning waters of Koh Phi Phi. If you have a question that isn't covered here, don't hesitate to reach out to us directly – we're always happy to help.
1. Can I do a Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) if I can't swim? Absolutely! You don't need to be a proficient swimmer to enjoy our DSD program. Our experienced instructors will provide you with all the necessary skills and support to ensure a safe and enjoyable underwater adventure. Our aim is to make diving accessible to everyone, regardless of swimming ability.
2. What's included in the DSD package? Our DSD package includes everything you need for a fantastic diving experience: expert instruction, equipment rental, insurance coverage, and even delicious food and drinks. The only additional cost is the national park fee, which is separate and goes directly to the Thai government.
3. Can I book a diving experience on the same day I arrive on the island? Yes, you can! If you arrive in the morning and can make it to our dive shop by around midday, you'll likely have the opportunity to dive on the same day. We're here to ensure your diving plans are as seamless as possible.
4. How many days does it take to complete the PADI Open Water course? Our PADI Open Water course typically spans over three days. This allows you to learn and practice essential skills in both confined water and open water settings. However, if you're looking for a more intensive approach, we offer flexible scheduling options to fit your preferences.
5. What's the best time to visit Koh Phi Phi for diving? Koh Phi Phi offers incredible diving opportunities year-round. Even during the so-called rainy season, the underwater visibility remains impressive, making it a fantastic time to explore the marine wonders. However, the period from October to March is considered high season, offering the best conditions for exploring diverse dive sites.
6. Can I join a dive trip if I'm not a certified diver? Absolutely! Our experienced instructors offer guided fun diving for certified divers as well as introductory programs like the Discover Scuba Diving experience for those who want to explore diving without getting certified.
7. What sets Dive Tribe apart from other dive centers on the island? Dive Tribe stands out with our brand-new scuba equipment, highly experienced instructors with over a decade of experience, and the exclusive availability of an additional speedboat for spectacular diving trips to Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa, and the King Cruiser wreck.
8. How do I get to Koh Phi Phi from Phuket or Krabi? Both Phuket and Krabi offer ferry and speedboat services to Koh Phi Phi. Ferries generally operate multiple times a day, while speedboats offer a quicker option. It's recommended to check the schedules in advance and choose the option that suits your travel plans.
9. Should I stay overnight on Koh Phi Phi or visit on a day tour? Staying overnight on Koh Phi Phi is highly recommended. The island offers a vibrant nightlife, stunning beaches, and a chance to explore at a leisurely pace. Day tours can be rushed and limit your opportunity to fully experience the island's beauty.
10. What's the difference between the Junior Scuba Diver and Junior Open Water courses? The Junior Scuba Diver course allows young divers to explore the underwater world up to a depth of 12 meters. On the other hand, the Junior Open Water course spans over three half-day sessions, preparing young divers for a lifetime of diving adventures by diving to a depth of 18 meters upon turning 15.
We hope these answers help you prepare for your diving adventure with Dive Tribe. If you have any more questions or need further clarification, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We can't wait to welcome you to the underwater wonders of Koh Phi Phi!
